Physical - Part 2

Now onto the physical aspect of improving your aiming and game play.

Physical aspects are things like your posture, how you hold the mouse, how you position the keyboard etc.

Why is a mouse sensitivity around 15 inchs/360 preferable?

Think about it like this, sometimes in gaming you literally need to move your cross hair a few pixels, if your sensitivity is too high, even the slightest movement of your mouse will actually make your cross hair skip over pixels! So that enemies head you wanted to hit? Sorry, your sensitivity is too high and your cross hair just basically teleported from one side of the head to the other.

But with a lower sensitivity, although you may have to move your mouse much further to spin around, you will have extremely precise control and accuracy and finesse when it comes to long distance battles. After a short while of using a lower sensitivity with a bigger mousepad, it becomes natural, all you need to do is swipe your arm across and you're facing the opposite direction. No issues at all.

Look at these two images for example, in both images, the crosshair moves the same amount, imagine the red dot is the enemies head. Think about it like this, the first movement you make, you land on the enemies head, then say you accidentally move your mouse again, look at how much further you have to move the mouse the second time in order to miss with a low sensitivity.

Now compare to a higher sensitivity. The crosshair moves the same amount, but the difference is how far the mouse moves, notice how just a tiny second movement of the mouse will cause you to miss. A sensitivity that is too high gives you nearly NO ROOM FOR ERROR! And humans by nature constantly make errors.

The way you sit, should be an ergonomical position and posture, the biggest reason is for health issues, when you're new to gaming and sitting in front of a computer, you won't really notice much discomfort, but if you start to rack up thousands of hours in front of a screen, you will start to notice the pains that come with it, in your wrists, in your back, your eyes will start to get tired easily.

Many gamers will move their monitor extremely close to their face in order to be able to see things better, although this will give you better vision in game, it WILL damage your eyes IF you do not take breaks often, looking into a bright light will cause damage to your retinas, as our eyes are not designed to look into a source of light, rather they are designed to look at reflected light.

We recommend having your desktop brightness all the way down low, and only use higher brightness when playing and needing to focus. Also, when you take breaks, make sure to look as far into the distance as you can, don't just look across the room, look out a window at the further things you possibly can, this will give the muscles in your eyes a chance to stretch out.

Keyboard Positioning

Our wrists naturally slant inwards towards each other, they don't come straight out parallel to our forearms, especially since we have a tendency to stick our elbows out from our bodies a little while using the computer.

Because of this, it is more ergonomic, to rotate the keyboard so that the right side is lower than the left side, not only does this make it easier on our wrist, it also should give you a bit of extra room for your mouse movements.

Some pros even play with their keyboard almost completely vertical! There is no definite right or wrong way, it's mostly about comfort, but your priority should be to position everything so that you use the least effort, and you are the most comfortable and relaxed.

Use only the force necessary

When using the computer, especially gaming, you should be consciously trying to hold the mouse as lightly as possible. Pressing the keys with the lightest amount of force required! This is VERY important. For so many reasons.

First of all, for health reasons, using more force that required will give you a plethora of health issues later in life. Such as repetitive strain injury, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome etc. So that in itself should be reason enough to use the lightest force possible.

But besides that, it helps to understand how our bodies work and move, you see in order to move our body we need blood flow to the area we wish to move. If you are too tense in your hands, it restricts blood flow, which limits your movement! If you are the type of person who tense up during your game play, you need to relearn how to play and deal with certain situations (more on this later) but for now, you need to focus on holding the mouse as lightly as possible, pressing the keys as lightly as possible, all WITHOUT CARING ABOUT YOUR IN-GAMER PERFORMANCE!
